Well, we WERE going to have our stuff packed and loaded on the truck Thursday and Friday of this week.... however, due to the fact that the appraisal of our new house took forever to happen, etc, we've had to push our move date back a week, so now they are coming the 23rd and 24th.... ugh. Too much stress....

That, and my hubby's college roommate was in town last night and they wanted Thai food; I went and had my usual rice and chicken but made the mistake of just tasting one bite of each of their entrees and was in pain literally 30 minutes after; they wanted to go to a bar for drinks after, but I discovered I had no breakthru meds in my purse, so I made them come back to the house, took my meds, changed into sweats, and mixed their cocktails HERE. Luckily they didn't seem to mind; they just got in the recliners, had a drink or two, and reminisced and chatted while I lay on the couch relaxing and putting in my two cents occasionally.

This morning hubby is complaining of a migraine, so perhaps there was MSG or something in the food, in addition to spices. *sigh*

I feel better this morning, only some lingering aches and frequency (partially from drinking a ton of water to flush out the offenders); he'll feel better when his migraine pill kicks in.

To be honest I think the stress of moving is getting to both of us --- I just cannot wait to have it over with. Luckily my uro called and said there was a present for me at the front desk of her office yesterday, and inside was a nice card wishing us luck on the move, and inside the card were new scripts for extra pain meds and some Valium to help me get over the hump (packing, car ride to Winston-Salem, general freak-outs I am so prone to, etc) until I can see my new uro/pain doc in NC. Was very thankful for the extra help  to uro!

You are so very fortunate in having a wonderful, caring doctor who cares. Mine is on a leave of absence and I miss him sorely.

Sending gentle hugs,
Donna

Jen,
As the veteran of multiple moves, all I can say if you need to vent I am here, and hang in there. I moved alone when we moved back to CA with Lindsey at 8 months old. Chris had already started his command. Very stressful. Take care of yourself and remember to rest.

Hugs and best wishes,

Rest up and try not to stress too much about the move. It will all come together as planned (even if it is later than you expected.)

I was out of the country for a week in February and when I returned, I had one week in my house to pack everything, close on the sale and move! It was pretty crazy, but I got through it really well in the end. Are you having movers do all of the loading/unloading? I tell you, that was truly a lifesaver for me, and I was only moving two miles away!

I'm glad to hear your uro was so nice!

Wow... one week... that is pretty stressful!!! Whew... at least we have a little more time.

Yes, we have movers doing most of our stuff. Hubby even shelled out an extra $700 for professional packers to come in the day before the truck loading so that we don't have to do so much. That is definitely a good thing.

I also have to take a pre-employment drug screen ... lovely. I guess I will just bring my prescriptions with me to the lab as well as my doctors' business cards. I have read that if your scripts are legit, and you have the correct amount of drug in your system, the lab will generally report you as negative, as you are on the medication for a reason. At least I'm really experienced in peeing in cups after having IC ;)

Jen,
You are absolutely right. As long as you have a valid prescription, they will report is as negative. I just gave the doctor that called me from the lab the number to the pharmacy, and gave the pharmacy permission to release my records. I also had my doc write a letter to my new employer with the meds I take and that they did not impede my ability to work. I was very upfront at the beginning, and had no issues with it at all.

Hugs and good luck with the new job,
