Good morning, all,
I noticed that maple syrup is okay for IC. I was just wondering about Bisquick baking mix. Pancakes would be a wonderful new item to add to my not so long choices of food.
If Bisquick is not okay, is there a safe alternative for making pancakes???
Thanks for you help.
Going out to enjoy the day.....

Carol,
Pancakes are pretty easy to make without a mix. Here's my pancake mix
1 egg
1 cup of self rising flour
3/4 cup of milk
2 Tablespoons of vegetable oil
1 Tablespoon of sugar
If you make it yourself you'll know exactly what is in it.
Enjoy!
I'm okay with Bisquick for pancakes, waffles & scones.
I'm also okay with putting blueberries or sliced pears with cinnamon in the batter.
I'm okay with REAL maple syrup.
What I'm not okay with is:
IHOP's oil they use in all their restaurants
"Fake" syrup

I also do fine with Bisquick or Krusteaz pancake mix --- all you have to add is water and a bit of oil. Real maple syrup is okay for me. It's a very rare treat for me because of the sugar.

I have made pancakes with Hungry Jack pancake mix and been fine.

I use Bisquick or Jiffy baking mix with no problems.
Watch out for imitation maple syrup though! Last month I wasn't thinking and used Mrs Butterworths on my pancakes. Wow, that was one long, painful mistake!
I've since used plain corn syrup with a little blueberry filling on my pancakes for a topping and that worked well.
