The anti's I have been taking for my uti have now begun to give me a yeast infection. I'm not real uncomfortable yet but I feel it coming on. I had to run out and get some monistat. I hope this doesn't turn into a real bad one. I am already itching enough underneath this stupid cast on my leg. The cast comes off next Thursday. At least I sure hope it does. I just wish I could get well so I could start enjoying summertime.

Ty Katrina the monistat is burning my bladder. I am not sure for how much longer I should use it.

I keep a sprare box so that when a yeast infection comes (usually at night or before a specal event) I have it handy to use. My husband is a okay guy but I think he feels uncomforatable at times when I have asked him to buy monistat so we agreed to always buy two at a time. :shake: We both knew it was bound to happen and when I had to use antibiotics I followed it up with monistat. My diet can bring on a yeast infection to if I am eating to much sugar. Everyone is different but at least we can buy it at a pharmacy instead of getting a prescription.

Being one who hates going to the doctor I always keep yeast treatments on hand. Emily, if any of these would be better choices than monistat for you good luck! Sure hope you feel better.
YEAST LIST: Boric Acid, Aci-gel (insert it at night, it maintains the ph of the vagina & yeast can't live when there's an acidic environment - or can use apple cider vinegar in water) and also washing externally with tea-tree oil diluted in water. \acidopholous tablets, a wet towel with s AZO yeast, http://www.ghtbiz.net/rescue/nocandida/lead.html, Any probotics, Flora-Q The Flora-Q is made by Kenwood Therapeutics. It contains Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium, Lactobacillus paracasel, and Streptococcus thermophilus -- these are all bacteria that normally live inside your digestive tract. What you do is take a capsule a day for a few days during antibiotic treatment and then a couple afterwards, and this replaces your normal flora, making it much less likely to to get yeast infections. (Nystatin, Diflucan by prescription.)

I guess I join the club - I've had a yeast infection for going on 2 weeks now. I used 2 rounds of monistat 1-day treatment and was still itching, so I used another last night. Going to pick up a Diflucan from the drug store tonight. This started after a round of antibiotics for a non-specific vaginitis infection. I've got to get my hands on some aci-gel. I used to use it, and it worked great, then my nurse practitioner acted like she'd never heard of it. That was awhile ago, so I may try again. Hope you all feel better soon!
Must be the time of the year for yeast infections. I just took a Diflucan today. Hope it goes away soon! :toilet:

The yeast infection has not gone away but it not as bad as it was a few days ago.I finally got the cast off my leg yesterday (Thursday) but I have to wear the walking boot for 2 more weeks at least. :headbang:
My bladder is still screaming at me something fierce. :cussing: My frequency has gone down just a little but I am having trouble falling asleep tonight so here I am on the boards again. I had a long nap early in the evening so maybe if I can get a little bit shuteye I will be okay tomorrow at work. I just wish my bladder could heal up like broken bones do. I am getting a little drowsy here on the computer so I think I call it a night. Thanx everyone for your support.
