Someone linked me to the ***** site and there's a lot about it decreasing yeast levels, and I've had a few of other IC'ers say that starting a yeast diet and taking certain herbs has helped their IC enourmously, and most said that they're DRs had not picked up on any yeast problems. I've decided to start taking Caprylic Acid and Acidophilus just to see if there's any change, but I wondered if I'm taking these, is it necessary to follow the diet or will the herbs themselves be enough to be beneficial?

My main concern with starting the diet is having to cut back on bread. I've read on some sites that you can get "yeast free" bread but that's not something I've been able to find. I'm underweight as it is and can't imagine having to cut back on it. I eat wholemeal bread as white bread leaves me too constipation, and usually eat about 4 slices a day.

Can anybody give me any advice?

Many ICer's get a yeast infection from taking antibiotics. I can't imagine not having enough yeast, but I guess anything is possible. Let us know how you make out. Kathi

I can eat some breads with no problem. Yeast is used in bread so it will rise and be soft --- if you're afraid of yeast, you might try some sourdough bread.
