She is treating my Ic with elmiron 200 mg. twice a day. the burning I feel is a yeast infection from surgery and ic combined no infection. the pathology report came back from surgery and lap the adhesions the removed were also endometerosis like I had before I have to continue on my birth control pills and when I go back to see her in 8 wks I have to start on lupron. She has to get authorization for the elmiron my hmo does not cover it and In the meanwhile authorization so I can start lupron shots in 8 wks also. any advice you can give me on elmiron ? what to suspect? I know what I am in for with the Lupron been on it before.

Kim I am glad your Gyno finally listened to you. In fact it was my gyno who thought and suspected IC before anyone else would. In fact he sent a note with me to a urologist told him to test me for it, but the uro refused said I was to young. My gyno has been with me the last 7 yrs of this and he is the best. With the elmiron I cant tell you anything, I am not on it because I had side effect of hair loss from it. But I am sure other can.

Ty for response Patricia . How are you doing? I am still waiting to hear back from the dr. and the insurance about the elmiron I am not sure if my insurance will cover it.
