Hello I have been largely asymptomatic for the past year and have recently added Paxil a week ago to my medicine regimen and ouch have been in a horrible flare for the last few days. :toilet: I wanted to ask fellow icers if they have tried the SSRI Paxil and how their bladders tolerated it. Two years ago I tried minocycline the antibiotic and 10 days later i was in so much pain I ended up in the ER and it took months and months to get my bladder symptoms stablilized. I have also quit Elavil a month ago, my urologist has sadly died and have not gotten another doc. This could have definetly allowed my bladder to go back to hell or a combo of factors could have. I suffer from social anxiety and a psychiatric nurse practicioner prescribed both the paxil and buspar (i have tolerated this well in past).

Thanks for your reply. I feel like my mood really needs the Paxil but I am now very afraid it could have contributed to this flare that i'm so miserable with right now. To keep with it? or drop it? that is the question! I have gotten back on the elavil but I have to find a uro to get a refill.

i was on paxil cr from december of 2004 until may this year because of the problem with production, then they put me on plain paxil. i didnt think i had a flair because of it but now i am wondering. about the time i stated i ended up in the er with a horrible flare and got some meds for the pain(love one of the dr.s at my er :) ) since then i have had to go :toilet: a little more often (like we dont go often enough). i think im going to talk to my doc about this....anyway the flare is pretty much gone and i am about to refill meds again this week. i think that i just needed time to adjust to it but still going to talk to the dr. you might ought to, also....good luck, feel better :grouphug: kari
