I went in for my sonogram today and found out that we are having a little boy. I am so excited. I also had my blood work done for down syndrome. I had surgery while I was pregnant, not knowing I was, and one of the side affects of the surgery could be down syndrome. So please pray that the tests come back normal. Thank you:)

Sincerely,
Danielle

I am crossing my fingers for you, although I am sure he will be healthy.

Take care!

Congrats Danielle (and Tracey:)) I am a little jealous! Little boys are so much fun, and love their mamas the most. They are rambunctious, but emotionally lower maintanance. I would love to have another boy! I will pray for you to have a healthy baby boy.

When are you due? I am having another little girl around Oct. 15, and you are probably pretty close.

Thank you for everything. I still have not heard any news yet. But no news is good news:) I will keep everyone updated. I am due Nov 5. How are your headaches Sherry5? I have migraines to, but I have to take Dolgic Plus Tabs for mine.

Danielle - congratulations!!! :) That's awesome!

Did they tell you how they thought the surgery could cause Down Syndrome? I have worked with several kids with Down Syndrome and it is chromosomal in nature so I'm not sure how a surgery could cause that. It is not caused by any accident or illness during pregnancy.

In any case, I hope you have a healthy, happy baby boy. :)

Hey everyone. Thank you for all the prayers and thoughts. I got my test results today. They came back negative!!!! I was so happy. The nurses told me and a friend talked to the doctor she worked with that the meds they gave me to put me to sleep for the surgery could cause down syndrome for the babies. I don't know how true it is, but I am just happy that my tests came back negative. Again thank you all:)

Always,
Danielle

Danielle, I am so glad you and the babe are fine! I will have to ask my Doc about Dolgic tabs. I have just been taking vicodin sparingly when it gets really bad. I don't like it though. I am taking Terbutiline for preterm contractions, and I made the mistake of taking them both at the same time. It was horrible, I was so shaky and I almost passed out. It made me scared to take the vicodin at all.

I haven't checked in here in a while, and i hope all is well! When are you due?

Thank you. I am due Nov 5. When are you due? That would have scared me to. I am glad that your okay, though. The only thing I had a problem with when I took the Dolgic was the first couple of times they made me sleepy. Other than that they are great. I am sorry to hear about your pre term contractions. Is everything going to be okay, now that you are taking the Terbutiline? I hope you start to feel better:)

Danielle- I am due October 15. Hopefully she'll come a little early like my other daughters did. Right now I have decided to have a c-section, but that could change. Your son and my daughter will be almost the same age!

I wouldn't mind the medication making me sleepy because usually when I have to take something, it is because I am in too much pain to sleep. Although I do sometimes take it because I there is something I have to take care of, and I can't lay in my bed with all the lights off;) Did the drowsy effect wear off?

I have been on terbutiline with each of my babies. It is not so bad as long as you are not on bedrest. I was on bedrest for 5 months with my last one, so I am just very thankful I have been able to avoid that so far with this pregnancy. I have strong pre term contractions, but they don't really dilate my cervix. The medication keeps them pretty much in check.

Wow, we are due very close togther. I am hoping Nicholas will come early to. Just because of the holidays and all. I am going to try and have a vaginal birth, unless something happens. The sleepiness from the Dolgic wore off in just a couple of hours. It was nice because like you said, you actually got to sleep. So that was nice. I will keep my fingers crossed so that you don't have to go on bedrest.
