Snacks with Elmiron?

I know you aren't suppose to eat an hour before you take your pill or two hours after but can I have a couple piesces of carmels? I ate dinner at 7:00 and I am waiting tell 9:00 to take my pill but I love candy and want to have a piece of carmel is that ok or will it mess up the effect of the medicine?

My understanding is that the recommendations of how to take it helps it to get to your bladder and thus helps it work. Because of other health problems it is impossible for me to take it as recommended and I talked to my doctor about this. Even though I cannot always take it that far away from eating it still helped me and in about 4 months which is fast. I would talk to your doctor about snacking but I suspect that cheating a bit on the time by snacking some won't hurt too much.....I recommend to help make sure it does work still is to drink a lot when you take it.
