Yay! :D
Still in NC -- but thought I'd share my good news with you all
Well, we bought our new house here in Winston-Salem, North Carolina this week -- it is a gorgeous house on a pretty large 3 acres of beautiful wooded land (huge to me since our house in Memphis was about 5 feet away from the neighbors on the other sides). It is fully of windows to look out and enjoy the view, has a wood stove, a huge huge kitchen and 3 bedrooms/2 bathrooms -- absolutely stunning actually. We got into a bidding war with some old couple from Maine who wanted it as a "country home" and for a while it was touch and go, but WE GOT IT :)
Also, our home in Memphis, after just 7 days on the market, sold for just $2000 below our asking price, and so that should be over with pretty quickly. :D
Now I just have to go back there, pack up some more, and get movers to haul it all away, and we will be set regarding the house situation.
We still have to get hubby a job, but hopefully he will come home from his interview today with an offer :)
Unfortunately, I'm flaring BAD from all the riding in cars looking at houses, the stress of the bidding war and signing for a mortgage that is scarily large, but I think it's worth it. I get a day of complete rest today, so I will feel better by tomorrow I'm sure :)
Hope everyone is doing well -- we're leaving tomorrow so I should be back home and on the boards more by the weekend :)

Sounds wonderful! We live on 6 acres and I love being in the country. I tell my husband I can yell at him and the neighbors can't hear --- or I can take out the garbage in my nightgown if I want to.

congratulations. I just moved back to my "home" area to a 50acre horse farm. It is my fathers parents original home. Completely gutted out and redid the inside. Still lots to do but we will get there.
I'm "home" and that is all that counts.

I start my job July 1... which means I literally have to get back to Memphis (we're halfway there, in Knoxville at my MIL's house), get movers, pack, and get us back to the new house -- so I am going to be very very busy in the next few weeks!!! But it's worth it because I can't wait to move ... the new area and new house are much better than where we are now.
This summer is going to be a very busy one with the move, starting my new job (as lab work often requires working beyond the usual 9-5 schedule), and trying to find hubby a job (he still hasn't found anything so luckily I can afford the mortgage payments on my own until he finds something)...whew... busy busy busy. :bonk:

Hey Jen,
That's great news! I love that feeling when things are really 'on the move'...it's so exciting! The house sound FAB, as does the job! I really hope your flare subsides soon so that you can get the most enjoyment out of this time as possible (I'm flaring right along beside ya so I know the frustration!). Though, I've found that sometimes being sooo busy & distracted can help so I hope that turns out to be the case!
Congrats on everything once again & sending you 'good bladder vibes'! :)
Shelley
ps - I'll write a proper return email soon, but you're probably too busy to read now anyway! :)

Well, we are back in Memphis now, so I will have better access to the boards again :)
Boy, is it nice to see the "Sold" sign out front -- I had been sooooo worried that our house would not sell well, since there are three other homes on the street for sale, and they've been on the market for MONTHS. However, I guess someone up there was smiling on us because ours sold right away :) (Although our neighbors told us ours is the best one on the street and that we'd priced it too low, so I guess that probably had something to do with it... we prob. did price it too low, but I told my hubby that I'd rather have a little less money than have the dumb thing on the market forever and have to pay on two mortgages for who knows how long!)
But UGH... I am still kind of flaring from all the car riding and stress, and my fibro is acting up because of having to sleep in crappy hotel beds for a week, plus the crappy bed at my MIL's house (my MIL does NOT believe in buying new mattresses EVER and the bed we got there was dented in the middle and really small, so hubby, myself, my big 21 lb cat, and our dog were all cramped up -- I woke up at 3am in so much pain and needing to stretch so bad that hubby moved onto the couch so I could sprawl-- and we could NOT wait to get home to our own queen-size pillowtop mattress :) ).
PLUS, yesterday my sister-in-law came over to visit us at MIL's house and she had some kind of cold/flu/bronchitis thing, and she coughed and sneezed all over and then said, "Well, just take a bunch of Vitamin C or OJ or something" completely forgetting I CAN'T because of IC (even tho she is a nurse) -- and now today I have that heavy body, lightheaded, "something's-not-right" feeling you get when you're about to get sick  I am sitting here cheering on my immune system and visualizing my white blood cells attacking the virus, hoping I do NOT get her horrid sickness in full force, but we didn't sleep well and stressed out a lot this past week so my defenses are probably down and I bet I get it *grumble*
AND it is disgustingly hot here in Memphis, record highs of like 97 degrees... ugh. After the cool NC temps (it was in the 70s at first and then, when rain began later in the week it actually got into the 50s!!!) this feels AWFUL.
BUT WE GOT MY DREAM HOUSE :) :) :) So that makes it all worthwhile. Tomorrow we're calling some moving companies to get estimates for moving our stuff and I just can't wait to move to my pretty new home. We call it our "mountain house" because it's like living in a big cabin up in the mountains :)
OK, anyway, enough about me.... how's everyone else???????????? What did I miss when I was gone??????? ;)

PS -- Shelley, don't rush on the email -- take your time. I know you're busy too right now, and that it can be tough to sit and write an email when flaring :) But it's great to see you on the boards again after so long and I can't wait to hear what you've been up to :)
