I just purchased a book, A Deleciate Balance, Living Successfully with Chronic Illness; by Susan Milstrey Wells.

I was skimming over the pages last night and found a paragraph in a chapter called "From Denial to Acceptance and Back Again".

Making Sense of What We Feel.....

The most pervasive feeling we confront is a profound sense of loss. We lose our identities as stong, competent, "can do" individuals. Some of us lose activities we enjoyed and the friends we did them with. Sadley, we may lose our dreams as well - giving up education, career, and family goals that seem just outside our grasp. In the end, we may feel that we have lost control over our most precious possessions: our bodies and our minds. Many days, they simply do not work the way we want them to.

I read that and think to myself, that sums up how I'm feeling. How about any others? It is a very good book and I recommend it to anyone. There are references to the illness of IC in the book quite a bit. I found myself reading on and on because I found myself reading paragraph after paragraph words that I was thinking but could not find a way to express. I've already got page after page of highlight points. My answer to questions now will be refer to page #...lol
