How soon can you tell if your pregnant? i made love to my b-friend on the 30th which is when i was supposed to be ovulating or at least fertile time period. i want to know how soon i can take a pregnancy test. im not supposed to get my period until June 19th and would rather not wait that long. are there certain tests my gyno can perform. im going to see her tomorrow. your advice would be appreciated thank you

it takes about 5 or 6 days for the egg to make it to the uterus. if it implants, it will start kicking out hcg (the pgcy hormone). you won't be able to detect it in your blood or urine until about 12-14 days after ovulation. most home urine tests will pick up around 50 on the hcg, but a blood test can go all the way down to 0. most drs won't do them unless you're late or are doing fertility procedures. you can have your progesterone tested at 8 days after ovulation. it will tell you if you ovulated. but it won't signal pgcy. a number over 10 is good. i've had mine as high as 76, but still not pg. just meant i ovulated several eggs while on fertility drugs.

if you're trying to get pg, when you're at the dr, ask for a progesterone test in a few days. if it comes back 10 or above, that means your ovaries are doing their job. wait until your period is late before taking a pgcy test though. sometimes you'll get false negatives because the test just isn't sensitive enough to pick up the hormone.
