I am having a cysto/hydro tomorrow.. I am scared to death of how I will feel afterward. I have trouble urinating after anesthesia anyway. I have read A LOT of horror stories on here. Will I not be able to work the next day? Will the pain be excruitiating? I have frequent urination 11 times a day.. I get up 1 - 2 times at night..and I have pelvic pain..I do have endometriosis. I am just really scared.

I had no problem with the procedure at all. It was after (2&1/2 hrs) that I could not pee and had to get cathed. I am in the minority though because most people seem to be able to "go" right away. I had no pain at all except before I got cathed because I was so full. We are all here for you and will pull you through it! You will do fine!!

dees1877,
its normal before any procedurel to be scared .my first 6 were with general anesthesia but my last one was with an epidural. after i had pain and spasms for several days but usually he gives me pain meds. i have gone back to work the day after but wouldn't reccomend it. i was self employed at the time and did'nt have a choice. i would take a few days off if possible. i have been on both sides . there are a lot of horror stories out there and some don't respond to hydros or get worse but its the only thing that works for me. i have had this 20 plus years and none of the meds helped me and believe me i tried all of them. i took elmiron before it was approved by the fda. i took it six years just because i was afraid to get off it.i hope all goes well for you.take care.

I had my last hydrodistention five days ago. I also think a few days away from work is a good idea. If you have a job where you can sit most of the day, you might be okay, but you'll feel much better if you can rest a bit after the procedure.

Most people don't have a horror experience with the cysto w/ hydro. Yes, there are some who really have, but most are uncomfortable for a time - like a bad flare - and then back to whatever their normal was or better! :) You'll be fine. :kissing:
