Wohoo! I found some :)
I'm a Melbourne girl. I've had I.C. for 10 years but was only diagnosed a month ago. I really was hoping to find people in my own country who have this because the public heath system over here seems a little different. Same with pharmaceuticals. Can we import prelief? I'd like to give it a try but i dont want to break any laws.
Have any of you found that your specialist/gp has been a bit slack on the whole treatment thing? I havent had any suggestions.

I didn't want you to think your post was being over looked.
I don't live near you, but wanted to welcome you to the ICN family. You may be able to order the prelief threw the ICN shop. or off the prelief website. sorry i'm not sure what there website is but i'm sure if you type it in the search engine it will come up or you may be able to look on the homepage of the ICN which is at www.ic-network.com and find it there (prelief website) on there website you should be able to see where they can ship it too.
the icn shop is at www.icnshop.com i do know on the homepage there is an ad for prelief there.
Glad you found us and welcome to the ICN.
much love headed your way.

If you scroll to the top of this page, you'll find the Prelief symbol. Click on that for information.

And I'd also like to say :welcome: to the IC Network.

Hi gwish,

Welcome to the Aussie boards. We've been a little quiet of late but there are a few of us here who chat regularly and we're all pretty nice :)

You can get Prelief imported into Australia by ordering from O/S but there are restrictions on the number of bottles. I seem to recall a conversation about this here a while back, so if you search the past Australian boards you should find it. Or someone will see this post soon and give you some importing advice!

Reading back over the boards you'll find out a little more about us all, as we've been rather active on here for about 12 months.

I'd write more but am at work and have a pile of things to do but will write more later - welcome aboard and hope to see more of you soon!!

Hi Gwish,

Welcome :)

I haven't been on for ages. I am an Aussie too, have had IC coming up to 4 years. I will pm you some details of support group meetings in your area. I joined a newsletter that comes out every 3 months and lists meetings around Australia, I am happy to look up a support group in your area. (I know they are held in VIC).

About Prelief, I made some enquiries about importing it in to Australia and you are only allowed enough for 90 days (was told that by customs). I will pm you some details of it. I haven't purchased it as yet.

I will send you a pm, I'm off make dinner now. We all are a lovely bunch, and hopefully you might be able to meet someone at your local support group meeting. I know I did and she is so like me and I'd be lost without her. Yes I am talking about you Sara. :kissing:

Hope to catch up with you on these boards.

Take care,

Nadia

Hello Gwish :welcome:
Yes, we aussies have been a bit slack of late. I hope that is because everyone has been well.
I have Urethritis (Urethral Syndrome) which is very similar and what works for IC works for me. I take Endep and it generally works very well with only a few minor flares here and there. Life has been so much better since finding all my friends here. Until I got a diagnosis, their advice and support was all I had to get me through.
The IC support group has moved from the Mercy in East Melbourne to its new site in Heidelberg. I couldn't make the last one so don't have the address but will post when I get it. I met the delightful Andrea (andcohen) last year Oh, and the gorgeous Justin! Hope you don't mind Andrea but it just has to be said, you lucky girl you!
What a relief to meet people with the same problems..... and a whole room full!

My nephew, who regularly travels in the US ( he's a golf pro) brought me three bottles of Prelief. If you know someone going over there, it's another way of getting some. Because the Endep has worked so well for me, I don't take the Prelief regularly. However, its great when I want a glass of champagne!

Please tell us more about yourself. We would love to here your IC story.

Hi Rosalie,

Thanks for posting the next Melb meeting - I seem to have fallen off the mailing list so will check the diary and see if I can skive off work early to come!

Hope everyone's well...
