Anyone tried these? I saw them in the flyer--says they're a mix of pork & beef, no nitrates or phosphates...

Wow! Why can't we have a Trader Joe's? I'm jealous! I would kill for a hot dog this weekend!

Uh, oh. Sorry, just got back from Trader Joe's. The hot dogs don't have nitrates or preservatives, but unfortunately DO have mustard & paprika in them. :toilet:

Oh, well. :headbang:

I did find though that TJ's has 100% blueberry juice, which is delicious iced. I tried it 1/4 blueberry juice to 3/4 water + ice. No bladder problem--and it's a very nice summery drink! Of course I'm so paranoid because they discontinued my pear juice, I bought 6 bottles of the blueberry!

Enjoy!

I have blueberry juice and have been afraid to try it. That sounds good....on ice...may have to give it a shot.

Can anyone else list IC friendly foods they've tried from Trader Joes? I haven't been to their store yet, but I'm looking forward to maybe finding more foods I can eat!

Off the top of my head, these are things I get at TJ's
Veggies: Especially like their microwave bags of cauliflower & broccoli, & "salad for 1 or 2"
Mozzarella cheese
Pizza dough-check labels for acidic preservatives (2 of their varieties are ok, 2 are not)
Chicken, beef
Trader Joe's Shredded Wheat (vitamin E as preservative, ok for some of us, not all)
Kashi Autumn Harvest Cereal (")
Oatmeal
Breads-- (Be sure to read labels, some are ok, some are not)
Shepherd's Bread
Lavash bread (great for wrap sandwiches)
Thin sliced cinnamon bread
Homemade tortillas (be extra sure to check & get the ones with just flour, water & oil)
rosemary rolls
Oatmeal raisin cookies
Blueberry scones
Frozen blueberries, vegetables
Brown rice in freezer (microwaveable small servings)
Blueberry ice cream
Mini tortilla chips rounds
Light popcorn-already popped
Caramel popcorn
Blueberry juice
Panda licorice
Honey
Plain meringue cookies
Milk
Eggs
Rice pudding
cottage cheese
butter

Kadi hit many of the hightlights TJ's carries. I would like to add just a few more items.

Kettle lightly salted potato chips
Plain pita bread (preservative-free)
Croissants (also pres.-free)
Plain pita chips
Puff pastry cookies
Peeled and cubed butternut squash
Squash soup
Canned 99% fat-free chicken broth (no preservatives, msg or onions)
Cashew butter
Love their frozen French green beans (thin string beans...not French-Cut)
Also love the blueberry juice and use it to make blueberry gelatin with pears in it

Applegate farms makes nitrite free turkey, beef, and chicken hot dogs! Find them at your local health food store. My fave is the turkey ones. Just had them last nite!
