 Hi, I have just joined this site for my husband who has been suffering several years with IC but just diagnosed last week . He has just started Elmiron, also takes Flomax and Ditropan. Nothing has helped so far. He has had bladder ablasion? surgery and a prostate procedure. Does anyone have
an miracle dr. in the Dallas Texas area? Hoping and praying for help for him.
He also gets worse at night as I have read some of you do also. Thanks

I am not in the Dallas area, but I did want to say :welcome: and glad you found us. It is so wonderful that you looked for help for your husband. Your support is so very important.
I am not on Elmiron, but I do know that it can take several months for it to work. Many here are on it and can advise you so much better than I can.
Please let your husband know that we are here to offer help and support. We are not doctors, but we do understand and will do what we can to help. :)

Hi & Welcome to ICN!
I'm not in Texas either, so can't be of much help with your question on doctors. Hopefully, someone will come along who will. There is a link to finding a doctor by area, and I think it might be on the ICN home page.
Since you mentioned you've been reading threads here, you probably know that many of us have been able to reach some degree of symptom control through diet? If your husband hasn't tried the IC diet yet, it might be very helpful to him.
Again, welcome!

Hi from Dallas,
I have an excellent dr. in Fort Worth but he's a urogynocologist so I'm not sure if he could help you directly. I'm sure his office could refer someone who is an IC specialist that treats men. He has 2 nurse practitioners who are also his research assistants so they would probably be able to answer this question for you. His name is Dr. England and he is with Texas Health Care out of Harris Methodist in Fort Worth. He is very thourough and tries new therapies until he finds one that works. I have refered many IC patients to him because of his compassion and everyone seems to feel the same confidence in him as I do. If you want his direct number pm me and I'll give it to you. Good Luck! If he isn't the right dr., I know that there are several other IC docs in the area.
