I went thru my congressman's office for help. Finally afte 2 years someone helped me. I called the C. Man's assistant Monday and she had good news (?) for me. The judge said it was not neceassary for me to have hearing. He reviewed my case and made his decision. However, I won't no the decision for up to 90 days. It has to go to the underwriting attorney who types it up and then it goes back to the judge for final reveiw. Can't the judge just say yes or no? Does it sound good for me? I'm going thru an awful pain issue right now. Four days of no relenting relief. I just took a xanax and an hour ago a 10mg percocet...no help. Earlier I did an at home elmiron instillation;the first one in six months. Nothing is helping. My husband and friends are sick of my complaining. I have a 10mg of methadone. Twenty mg made me very sick the other day and I swore I would never try another one. What should I do? I know I have two questions here: did I get SS disabiliy and what can I do about this horrific pain? If it wasn't for the Lexapro I would a maniac!!! :

I am betting that you got approved. I doubt the judge would deny you legal representation if he had made a negative decision against your case in advance.
I think the odds are in your favor. Try not to stress this, it sounds good for you. Remember that stress is not your friend.

Sorry that you are in such pain. Stay in bed if you can with a heating pad, I find that the lack of movement helps me. Avoid sex and watch out for the spicy foods. Sucks but that is all the advice I can give.

I did the same thing. I got my congressman involved, dont know if it helped or not, but he kept me up to date on my case, when no one else would. It also took me over 2 yrs to get approval. I agree it sounds good and I will keep you in my prayers....I know how you feel its real irrating. But think when you do get approval the huge back check you will get. Beware it still took me 3 months after approval to get my check.

Thanks for answering. I was told it could be up to 3 months for a check. Did you have an attorney? I did and its costing me 25% in fees. The attorney I had left the practice in Oct and his boss took over the case with my approval. Since that time, I was the one to call my congressman's office and get them involoved. I have never met this attorney. All his office did was get my medical records and submit them, that was after. I was turned down the first time. He feels he is intitiled to his fee. I think because we didn't have to go to court he shouldn't be charging so much. What do you think?

I had one in the beg but he dropped my case at the last minute, because I could not get my hearing moved closer to him. He sent a letter to SS stating he was not owed money b/c he did nothing, they still took out the 25% and alittle more, which he requested in the beginning. I have been trying for the last 3 months to get that money back from SS. They withdrew it but never sent it to him. When I did have the lawyer he did nothing for me. I got everything records, letters sent to dr and wrote my congressman. So I was glad he did not want the money, but I am still fighting to get it. They have put me on the backburner right now.

I'm not sure what is going to happen, but I know onething, this attorney does not deserve 25%. I believe he should get 1/4 of that but that's it. If I do get appoval, I will appeal his fee. It seems that everyone is so money hungry. I'm so upset because I just called my pain management doctor for six more percocet to get me thru to my app't next week. He said no. I should come in for an epidural, which is of no use, and is $457.00. I'm most certainly going to find myself another physician. What a great way to start the day.
