View Full Version : Memorial Day weekend dog shows

Hi --
Just wondering what you all are doing for Memorial Day weekend. I will be at dog shows all 4 days in Shawnee, OK, trying to finish my boxer: she has 13 points and all her majors, so just needs 2 points to finish (become a champion). Also helping my friend with her two male puppies (8 months old); still working on getting them completely trained- :) --love puupies. :)

Good Luck hope all goes well, we will be getting a brittany in August and hubby is considering show it some at field trials.

Good luck! I just finished a UD on my 4 yr. old Miniature Schnauzer "Mattie" at the Peach Blossom Cluster in Perry, GA. last month. It was my first UD and the thrill of a lifetime.

Oh, Man! I am so jealous!!!

I used to show Labradors. Before I had 2 kids. I used to pack up my dogs and my daughter and we'd go all over KS, MO, NE, IA, OK. I lived in Kc at the time.

I miss it sometimes, but really made myself sick with the stress. For big shows (majors) I'd really literally be ill the Monday after a show. I'd be down with a cold for a couple of days. I always blamed it on the poodle dust. HA!

RESULTS: My Boxer finished!!! She won the Boomer Boxer Specialty--only needed 2 points to finish...so now she is a champion, but still a spoiled brat! Her call name is Maggie. I am so tired today and IC flared from riding in the car back and forth and eating out so much.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Wow, a Champion!! Isn't it exciting??? You should be so proud of yourself!

I am proud of you. I don't think I could show dogs anymorw with the IC. I pretty much stopped while I was pregnant with Justin (now 7 YO) and tried again after he was born, but didn't really get back into it.

The stress and running and stacking and just constant stress. .... No way.

Again, congratulations!!! Hope you had pictures taken.

PS My Golden is a Maggie also.
