Can Vulvodynia affect just one area on the external part?

Does it "just happen" all of the sudden or does it sneak up on you?

Wondering because i'm having a burning on one area. I don't think it ever lasted a day without burning. But it calms down SOMEtimes.
It's worse after intercourse of course and i have to use ice cold water to rinse of with to help.

Also, can vulvodynia effect the inside too?

My vulvadynia effects my entire vulvular area and also the inside all the way up, so I am really not sure about It affecting one area but I don't see why it couldn't. I can only say that mine seemed to start after my first DMSO treatment and never went away after that.So it didn't sneak up on me.Take care.
