I've been so nervous to try drinking a glass of red wine, but this weekend, when my husband and I were having dinner with friends, we opened a bottle of Silver Oak cabernet and I enjoyed 2 glasses! I downed 3 Prelief before each glass, but woke up the next morning feeling just fine!
This is very exciting for me, as I really enjoy drinking some red wine with dinner. It was so relaxing, feeling like a normal person for a change! I'm taking Vistaril too, so that may have helped with the histamines in the wine.
Just wanted to share how excited I am! :woohoo:

Yeahhh!!!!
I can't wait (i hope) for the day I can drink another glass of wine again! Are you on meds? How long have you been on them? Just trying to gauge when it would be ok to try something like that.
I am so happy for you! And two glasses at that!
Melinda :)

Melinda - I have been taking Elmiron and Hydroxyzine for a little over 1 month. Be careful mixing alcohol with narcotics or other sedatives. Be sure and check all your meds on the PDR before drinking anything alcoholic. Don't want to have a bad reaction - can be very dangerous depending upon what you are taking. Thanks for the big YEAHH!!!!
Sherry - thanks for your CLAPS and CHEERS! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it!

:woohoo: I know how wonderful it is when treatment allows you to bring more things back into your life!! Makes me feel like flying when something I have given up for a long time can be brought back into my life. CONGRATS!! Thanks for adding the warning about alchohol and Meds because I know that if you have given up alchohol for a long time remembering the warnings on your meds about it probably isn't the first thing you think of....but we all need to be very careful since many meds will have stronger side effects with alchohol. Sometimes the problems are pretty bad!
Still...very happy for you!!! :)

Yes, I'm sorry. I should have put that little disclaimer in my initial message. DO NOT MIX YOUR MEDS AND ALCOHOL BEFORE CHECKING WITH YOUR DOCTOR!!!! I am an attorney, and actually deal with these types of cases all the time, and see devastating reactions when people mix alcohol and narcotics.
While I am very excited for myself, as you all know, none of us are alike and all take different meds. I am not taking any narcotics, or any other medications that would react badly with alcohol, and I checked with my doctor, so it was ok for me.
