If you eat a trigger food, when do you feel a reaction? Minutes, hours, the next day???
How do you pinpoint that as the problem?

Hey there! From my own personal experiences my food triggered flares would come on within a few hours. Sometimes if it was something I ate for dinner it would be the following morning. The best thing you can do is look on the IC list of trigger foods and see if there is anything on the list you may have eaten. Keep track of what you have eaten in the past 24 hours and refer to that when in a flare. Sometimes it's something that sticks out like a tomato on your sandwich and sometimes it's hard to find, like lemon juice in cheesecake. It will feel like you are constantly watching what you eat or drink, but after awhile it will become second nature.

You can always make notes. You should record what you eat every meal and then record the flares. You may eventually see a pattern. Plus, there's info. here for you so you know what you should avoid anyway. I've heard most people say they flare within an hour or so if they ate something they shouldn't have.

I flare within an hour or th enext day if I ate something that I shouldn't have. Sometimes stress makes me flare. Please look at browse our site and read thepatinet handbook and the flare handbook.

For me, the bomb will drop within an hour and then I'm curled up with my pillow and a bottle of water trying to flush my stupidity out! :(
Isn't IC grand? :p scream
My flare usually comes within the same day, especially if I have overindulged in something I should not that day. I get the heating pad going and that helps and my pain meds. Sometimes it can vary with me from hours after, to the next day. Take care Iris. hi :)
