Hi Everyone,

I have been told along with my IC my vaginal and bladder muscles are tightend and cause pain. Doc wanted me to go to Bio-feedback but I just found out that My new Docs office does not accept my Ins. although I did ask if they accpted it when I made my appoint :cussing:

I have made an appoint with another uro this is my 3rd Doc.. my 1st Uro didn't have a lot of knowledge about IC so she sent me to another dr.. I have Ibs constpation and have been diagnosed with IC a year and a half ago and had my 1st Hydro in December and the pain has eased up some. I feel I can controll it more so now then when I was 1st diagnosed.

my meds are Vistaril, Elavil, and Elmerion, and prelief, and as needed urisept, and pyridium and Urocit K :

okay finally getting to my question what do you do for this type of muscle tightening pain, It really bothers me during my period.

is there any type of muscle exercise I can do I havn't exercised since I found out I had IC.. I am afraid of making my bladder worse :headbang:

any advice would be great

My doctor gives me a low dose muscle relaxant - diazepam (valium) and it really helps with that. I only use it infrequently though because it is something I don't want to get dependent on but it sure helps the pelvic pain when I need it! Hope you feel better soon,
janie

Hi. I just enrolled in a pelvic pain research study. It is to do with stretching the pelvic muscles to loosen them up and ease the pain. I will learn tomorrow how to do them on my own and will let you know what they are and if I see them working. I can imagine it won't cause instant relief, I'm told it does take considerable time. I'm willing to try anything. I notice, like you, that it is much worse during my period.
