flaring causing me not to pee????

hello,
I have been a horrible painful flare for 1 week (side effect from a med) and 2 days ago I started having trouble with urine retention(drops instead of normal flow and having to push it out or not being able to go)My question is could my flare (24 hour agony of bladder pain) cause me to go into urine retention???? Can a flare set this off???? thank u

will it go away if the flare caused it???

I was just wondering if you had any children at any time. Usually a fallen bladder is associated with children, retention, however severe they may be. I have a severe case of retention, greater than 1 liter, (1000mls/ 1000ccS) several times and my bladder is still in place. I currently take cardura and it seems to work as well as flomax. I only strain about 25 percent of the time now instead of 100%.
