Any moms here that had labor pains in the back? That's what my latest flare felt like. I would get severe pain in the bladder and the back at the same time. I didn't want to take pain med because there was retention with this flare as well and didn't want to take the chance. I think that IC is not just involving the bladder for some of us. This has been talked about before.
Anyway, happy mothers' day to all the moms here. Doing better today.
Gentle hugs:)

I lay on my left side with my right leg bent resting high on a pillow. I then do the ph breathing and rub my lower back in a slow upward push. Would be better if I had someone else to do it.

Thanks everyone. Your support means a lot. Flare went away then came back same kind. I'm going to try that thing to lie on my side. My insurance won't pay for ER unless you are about to die, break bones or will have perment injury to limbs or eyes. Does anyone think this kind of flare means the IC is progressing?

Rhonda, what did the emergency room do when you went?
Thanks for prayers, too:)
Praying for everyone here,

they always do a uti check to make sure it isn't an infection and most of the time it is. they start me on an anti most of time by a shot then give me a rx then pain control. demrol shot most of the time. saddy i normally have to tell them how to treat me but in some cases i have ran up on some doctor that do understand and does know how to treat i.c i have even had an e.r doctor to call my doctor and find out how to treat me before.
hope you are feeling better.

Thank you for asking how I'm doing now, Rhonda. And thank you everyone here for your support, caring, prayers. I just got through with morning prayers and prayed for all of us with this disease as well as other people, and other things. For those here that don't believe in prayer etc, I am not trying to push religion or anything so please don't misunderstand.
I have a better understanding about what people talk about when they say they went to the ER. I am doing better. Please keep good thoughts for me, I'm going to the dentist in another town because that dentist is good and must ride public transportation.
Gentle healing to all,
With caring and support,

I had the "labor pains" with mine many times. I do Lamaze breathing to get through them. The first time I went to the Emergency Room they swore I was in labor and having a tubal pregnancy miscarriage. I knew I wasn't because my husband had a vasectomy 3 years ago.... :bonk: But what do I know, it's just MY body....
I use the Lamaze breathing and heat on my back with pain meds when it gets too intense. My family and close friends have gotten to know I'm bad when I start "breathing hard" and they jump into action.

Good Luck!
