My scale has broken down (gave me 3 different weights within 2 minutes-and I didn't like any of them :headbang:

I'm going to buy a new one and I'm wondering if any of you have tried the ones that measure your body fat & water along with your weight? If you have one you love, that would be good to know, since they're a bit spendy. (Though way less than they were a couple of years ago when I first saw them). Thanks!

I really like my scale --- it's one like they have in my doctor's office that has weights. It's easy to test its accuracy by stepping off the scale and setting it at zero.

I have one like that also. I bought it at J C Penney and is the same thing they use in the doctors office

I have a tamita scale...got it at Target for about 45.00. It is great...very accurate and it does tell my body fat too...which I do like since sometimes I will lose fat and not as much weight while turning fat to muscle. I highly recommend them!

Happy shopping! Hugs, Debbie

My advice...Pick up scale...carry to back door...open door...open trash can...throw scale in...close trash can...go back inside...close door...put something pretty where the scale used to be...never replace scale... :woohoo:

I never met a scale I liked...usually end up kicking the dickens out of them. :D

No kidding! I got a Tanita scale for $50 at BedBath&Beyond, with 20%off coupon = $40.

I was not pleased to discover that I weighed 5lb more than my previous (broken) scale had said (but same as what doctor's office & friend's scale had both said.) What was really shocking was that my body fat is up to 40%. For my age, height--it should be between 22-30%.

Yikes.

No matter whether you are using a scale for weight or to determine % body fat, what matters is the changes you see in the scale you are using. Also, the body fat should only be measured in women a week after their period until a week before their next one. If you take the body fat each month at the same time you should get an accurate representation of your body composition! :)
