Anybody who's had bladder augmentation in the past 2 years---could you please tell me how much you were charged before insurance?

I wish I could help you, did you have this done? How are you feeling?

Ruth,
Thanks for replying, and for asking! No, I didn't have the surgery. I've been writing an article about IC for the Endometriosis Association, and they want me to put the cost of all the treatments I mention. It's been more difficult than I thought to find some of them! I'm grateful that people answered my previous posts about the cost of instillations and cystoscopy. It's been too long since I had those treatments--I needed more updated info. I think people aren't answering this one because not many people have this surgery and the ileal conduit that I asked about. I read that they are only appropriate for something like 1 to 5% of IC patients.

Andrea, I had an augmentation way back in 1986.( It was unsuccessful, by the way.) My insurance paid the whole thing. Price varies according to where it is done, how involved the surgery ends up being, OR time, etc. For example just a simple appendectomy will vary in cost depending on which state it is done in and for that matter if it is done ina city, rural arrea, teaching hosptial versus private hospital. Andrea,
Your Welcome. Do you have IC and Endo.

I had endo, but it seems to be gone (thank God!) since I had a total hysterectomy about 14 years ago. I do still have IC.

I had an accidental augmentation. I had an abcess and then when they went in they found i had adhesions and they were strangling my bladder... two slits and a bazillion stitches later... bladder was augmented. It took about 6 months for it to crap out again! Now it doesn't work again.
