I was just wondering if anyone lives in or around Austin, Texas. It would be nice to talk to or share emails with someone in the area and compare doctors, experiences, etc...
Thanks!

I live in Hutto (just outside of Austin 30 miles or so) work in Austin and Shenna Lives out side of Austin. I think there are others. My doctor is Michael McClelland, he is on Red River.

I am planning to move to Austin in the fall. It will be starting all over again. How long have you had IC?

Frieda:
There are a few of us in the austin area. At least 3 or 4 of us that I know of. Let me know when you move here and maybe we all can get together.
I was diagnois with IC back in 1992, but had problems way back before I can even remember. Keep in touch.

Hi Frieda and welcome to Austin!
I am a fifth-general Austinite, so I am rather partial to this island in the middle of Texas.
I have probably had IC since I was 15 (I'm 30 now), but I really started having problems at about 19 and I was not diagnosed until 27.
Are you moving for a job, to go to school, or just the location?? I'm sure you will love it here, just be warned that the summers are brutal!
Let us know when you get here. Have a safe move!

My daughter lives in Austin area and my husband and I plan to sell our house in Florida and move to an apartment near her. He is hoping to transfer to another job at Walmart as he has been working there since he retired.
My health is getting worse and our daughter and her family want to help me. I really love it here in Florida, but am looking forward to being close to them. We have been in Texas almost every summer, but it still isn't as bad as where our son has been stationed at the Air Force Base in Las Vegas. Hey, what is the difference to be mostly indoors during the day in the summer or indoors all the time in the winter??? Give me summer!! I don't like the cold.
Look forward to chatting with you and find out how you are dealing with the IC, etc. as I have had this for 3 years, but bladder problems for most of my almost 65 years. I hope to find a good GP close to where we will be living and a good Uro. It was so helpful that my doctors knew immediately about IC and my Uro diagnosed me right away when my bladder infection would not clear up. Immediately he ordered the scope under anethesia.
Thank you all for making me feel so welcome already. It will probably be Oct. before we move as we have to pare down from a 8 room/2 bath/2 car FILLED garage to a small 1 bedroom apartment. Houses are selling in our area in a day to a week, so that will be easy, and we are working hard on the paring down, so plan to be moving by then.
Again, thank you!
Frieda
