the patch

my doctor just put me on the ortro evra patch and i was wondering if anyone has used it and it has helped. I was on the pill orthrotricyclen and it made me me feel normal, i just gained weight. My doc said this wouldnt do that but i was wondering if it will do the same thing for my ic with the hormones and all.

I am on the patch. I have not noticed a difference in with my IC, but I did not gain the normal birth control weight on the patch

Personally, I've had numerous problems with birth control my whole life, even before I was diagnosed with IC at 16. I recently tried the patch and it turned out to be the worst of them all. I had my period for 3 weeks straight and all the while felt like the first day or two of my period--the most painful and exhausting. I hope you ladies are having better luck! If it works, great. That's the wonderful about IC, eh? You can give someone suggestions, but it's a leap of faith because no one knows what will happen! My doc is now having me think about an IUD...it seems kinda scary especially because I'm so young, and because I've never had kids. If I could never have my period though, it would be such a blessing. Has anyone tried/is using an IUD? I would really like more information, and any helps. If you have experience with it, even better. Thanks! And good luck to the patch wearers :)
