Calcium Citrate

Has anyone found that Calcium Citrate pills help at all? If so, when do you take them? how much?

I know one person has mentioned them, and I did some research on the internet, but 2nd opinions are always helpful.

I can only tolerate calcium lactate but I understand that most tolerate it well. I can't tolerate anything with citrate or carbonate in it.

I take calcium citrate -- it helps with my VV and urethral burning. I take about 1000 mg per day.

There are three different forms of calcium - citrate, lactate, carbonate. I can only tolerate calcium lactate. Citrate would be like Citracal. Carbonate would be like Tums. Lactate is the form you find in milk. It comes in tablet form but hard to find. I get it at http://www.vitaglo.com It's cheap. I use the NOW brand but there may be others, I'm not sure.
