I know this has been discussed before but how do you manage the back pain that I am sure comes from IC in my case?
All responses welcome. I did my best to get a referral to a physical therapist and was told by my primary doctor that "chronic back problems" don't respond well enough to make a difference for physical therapy and that my insurance wont cover it. Finally he decided to ask for one time only and exercises to do at home. Maybe this will help. I also go to a chiropractor once in awhile and do my best to do short walks, IC permitting.

Yoga helps me a lot. Very gentle yoga works, really!

I went to PT and was given a few back stretches... and I agree with Bianchi that gentle yoga can really help a lot. I got the video from the ICN Store, "Hatha Yoga for Patients with Interstitial Cystitis" and started doing that at home, and pretty soon I was enjoying yoga so much I looked for classes!

I also take hot baths, and like Brat I have fibromyalgia, so I have Zanaflex (like Flexeril) around and taking one of those can ease that discomfort some... although they make me sleepy!

I found making small circles pushing up slightly on my lower back while laying on my left side helps with that. Helps with cramps too. Plus my tens unit helps with the back pain.
