Hi! I am still pretty new to all of this. I am trying very hard to stick to the diet (though I am finding it super difficult since all of my favorite foods are no-nos!) My main question is about spaghetti sauce. I just love it!! Is it ok if you use prelief, or would it still be a no-no. Thanks!!

Tomato sauce is usually pretty bad, even with Prelief. I'm allergic to tomatoes so it isn't even a temptation for me.

I have found that Prelief works . I use it with caution when I try new foods. It does seem to work on acidic foods most of the time, but I still can't eat as much of my favorites any more.
Good luck!

I can't eat anything with tomatoes in it without my bladder throwing a fit, regardless whether I take prelief or not. Tomatoes are just one of many things this disease has caused me to give up

I had a feeling that tomatoes would be pretty bad. I am not sure how much the diet is helping me because I still seem to be in a constant flare. Hopefully, the Elmiron and/or the instills will start helping soon. I do notice that some things do make it act up more than usual though- especially coffee. But, luckily I have not had too much of a problem with chocolate!! I guess that I will try a small bit of sauce with some prelief and see what happens! Thanks for your replies!

Hi all,
I am very new to the boards as well. I am from Canada where they don't sell Prelief But I ordered some online and am experimenting with it right now. I am a red wine drinker and have been for years, unfortunately I had to give it up. I have been trying the Prelief with a glass of white wine and its not too bad. Can anyone recommend a "safe" drink to try? Has anyone tried it with red wine? I am way too chicken let me know.
Thanks,
Carol :)

Hi Carol:
Here is a posting from my boss, Alan Kligerman, AkPharma's CEO and the developer of Prelief:
I use it with red wine, myself. Actually, white doesn't bother me all that much, at least not immediately; around 3 a.m. might be a different story. But I take two tabs with each glass of red wine - I just wash them down with the wine. If I don't, the red bites me almost immediately. But even with Prelief with wine, if I have red with Indian food, there are still heartburn problems, so I drink only white with Indian. Some people take the pills with some water, then drink the wine. That's ok, too. You can experiment around a little. Drink just a little red, but with two tabs. If no problem, increase the wine up to just below the trouble level. Three tabs are all right, too. You can't o.d. on Prelief; it's safe at any level, really.
Best wishes.
