You may be having bladder spasms...which is quite normal with a C&H.
After someone's been poking at your bladder muscle it tends to get angry and spasms just like charley horse...but instead of your leg, its your pelvic and bladder area. And it could be an infection...againw ith inserting items in there and scraping up the urethra, it just opens the door to infection....this also pretty normal to expect. Did they give you an Rx for antibiotics?
If you simply can't pee after hours, I would suggest going to the ER, and of course, contact the Uro too. You may need to go to the ER to be cathed so that all that urine can come out. Having back-up into your kidneys would not be a good thing. Also get checked for infection if they didn't give you antibiotics....
Good Luck! :hi:

Well I'm not sure what your being a man has to do with it....Everything I mentioned still applies, doesn't matter ir you are male or female....You could still have spasms and/or infection. Oxybutynin is not an antibiotic....I beleive its generic ditropan (??)
Hope you feel better soon, if not....please go to the ER. :)

I think it would be a good idea for you to be checked for infection --- just to be sure.

Yes it is generic ditropan....an antispasmodic. It sounds like you are having bladder spasms and maybe suffering from some retention. It could be partly because of HC or an infection. If this is the first time you have taken this med...if you do have retention it could be because of the med...so talk to your doctor.

Hello, I am having a similar problem. I had a uro-dynamic test, then a cytoscopy with hydrodistention on Friday, May 6. Today is Monday, May 9 and I'm so sore with some pelvic pain. I would assume this is normal considering these invasive procedures, right? I'm also finding it difficult to urinate (then again I'm on Ditropan and Flomax), although my frequency is under control. Is it normal to have pain after these procedures? If so, for how long? I was expecting relief. I feel worse now than before the procedure.
Thanks,
Lisa
Yeah, it is normal to feel pretty crappy for several days afterwards. It took me a week or two to return to how I was feeling before the cysto w/ hydro.
But, if you are having trouble urinating I would let your doctor know, just in case there is something the doc can do for you. Also, you may want to think about being checked for infection if you feel badly for some time - it is very common to develop a UTI anytime we are catheterized.

That's been happening to me for the past ten months. At first, I needed to strain to urinate. Now that I have improved a little, I can go by massaging my bladder and concentration. However, I still can't "just go" like normal people.
I feel for ya :grouphug:

Well I am going through this now, and I was actually told that more men experience this then women. I had the hydro yesterday morning and let me tell you, I drank so much stuff yesterday (which is what I was told to do) but nothing for about 11 hours would come out, I would literally dribble and that is it. Finally went to the hosiptal last night around midnight - sat there for over two hours before I was seen and then finally got releif via a cathidor - was the most wonderful feeling - took 1000 out! Anyway still it is in there and now I just found out my doc is on vacation for the day (wonderful) - I am not doing so well with the cath - which I never do. Hope you did go to either your doc or the ER for this problem - if so how did everything turn out??
Take care of yourself,
Jen
