Hello everyone,
I have finally gone to the VA for help. I have private insurance (which is astronomical in cost) but my copays and prescriptions are absolutely killing me financially. I now have an intake appointment at the Primary Care clinic. It is my understanding that I will have to pay $7 per prescription if the condition being treated is not service related. (I am in the process of appealing a denial of service connection for IC in relation to my chronic kidney stones, but that is a long story for another day and another thread). This will help me immensely on the financial front. I have not gone to the VA because I was led to believe that they would not see you for any condition that was not service related. So now that is cleared up, maybe some light at the end of the tunnel for my checkbook. This will also be a God send if and when I go off work on disability. Hope this finds everyone relatively well.

Thanks Barb, I appreciate the support. When I wen to the Urgent Care Clinic at Audie Murphy, I arrived Thurday evening at 5 pm and got home Friday morning at 5:30 am. It took 7 hours just to get to the examining room. What a wonderful way to spend a night. Oh well, hurry up and wait, you would think I wouldn't forget how to do that. I hope now that the process will be more manageable.

That is very cool you can be helped there and that it will help financially. :) Co-pays and prescriptions costs really eat at the budget when you have a chronic condition.
