I need some feedback... I have a new dr. in Delray Beach, Florida, who is supposed to be really good for IC. He gave me Cytra-K Crystals to make my urine more alkaline and less acidic, but it seems to be having an adverse effect. When I take it, I have urgency and frequency and when I stop, it goes away. Take it again--same thing. It has citric acid in it (duh!) as well as potassium citrate. Even the pharmacist said a lot of his patients take this.

Has anyone had experience with this?

Well I'd say that if you can't tollerate it don't do it. Some people can't handle an alkaline diet because of all the things that are alkaline are not always IC friendly to us all. I suspect you probably would not be alone with that reaction if it has those things in it. Perhaps later on after you have more treatment you could try that again...but obviously you can't now.

Hi Katrina,
Thanks for your message. I've had IC for many years and have been being treated for at least four. This is the first dr. that has recommended this treatment, but you are right, it just doesn't work for me. Good luck with your IC. Kat
