Lately I have been feeling more and more depressed. My IC has been going in and out of remission and I never feel right anymore. Half of the time I don't feel like myself at all, like I'm in a complete fog. I'm not on any medications and everytime I've been to the doctor the tests show up negative. I just am tired of feeling not like myself. I read in one of my moms medical books that symptoms that mimic fibro can come about if being woken a lot when going into a deep sleep which my cats been doing for 2 years and since she started that I haven't felt the same. I just wish I didn't feel so gloomy. Plus the factor of the whole summer not really having anyone to spend time with while my friends are away is bumming me out as well.
Any words of advice to cheer up???
thanks
~Amy~

Please tell your doctor how you are feeling. There is help for depression --- and having a chronic illness can lead to depression.

Well, first, remember, we are always here for you here :) :grouphug:
I also understand the gloomy feeling. I've had it often. You may want to discuss it with your doctor if possible, as you may be becoming clinically depressed. There is no shame in that and it happens with chronic illness A LOT. You may be offered medication for it, but also sometimes just talking to a therapist on a regular basis can really help you get out of a funk without any meds. Just knowing you have that hour every week or two where someone just LISTENS can be extremely calming and reassuring.
Other than that, use the time you have on your hands to get to know yourself. Read lots of good books, spend time playing with the kitty in the day (tire her out so she doesn't keep you up as much ;) ), take a class to learn something new that you've always wanted to do... pottery, knitting, whatever tickles your fancy. Sometimes just learning something new will help, and going to a class can introduce you to a whole new group of people you may not have met if you didn't try it.
good luck :grouphug:

Thanks for the tips. I am going to see the doctor soon to see about getting a refferal back to my old Psych. Last time I saw her I was only mild depressive but to be honest I think it's much worse then before. I know I need to seek help and I find if I talk about these things maybe I'll start to feel better.
I thought I was doing not to badly the other day until today when my friend was talking to me about all the things she's been doing and how she's got so many plans to go places, I just wanted to burst out crying. I know I should be happy for her but I guess I just feel like I'm chained to a wall and can't go anywhere. To make matters worse also today I started getting some strange pains in and around the thyroid area. I hate feeling down all the time... Hopefully I'll be able to get to see a psych quickly rather then waiting 3 months which I had to do last time.
Thanks Again all

I hope you can get in soon, too. :kissing: It's hard to wait once you have made the decision to go - I know from personal experience. I hope it helps a bunch. I did the same thing 2 years ago and was put on Lexapro. I am so glad b/c it has helped my depression and anxiety so much.

Hi Amy ....
Cheer up ! Hope you get some answers soon. Like the others I suggest you see your doctor. I know where you are coming from, you feel like the world is against you and you don't know which direction to go to make it feel better. I am on a aniexty pill, Clonzapam. Made a huge different for me.
Hope your yourself soon and remember one day you WILL be doing the things you want too, you've just hit a small bump in the road of life, answers will come.
