what birth control is good

Believe it or not when im on birth control i feel normal and i 4get about ic. 3 months ago i went off my meds and felt great for awhile then i had sex and now im flaring. The weird thing is when im bcontrol i had sex without flaring. I am going to go back on bc because i feel like it makes a world of difference. Is there an alternative to bc that would give the same hormonal changes? And if i do go back on is there one that will not cause me to gain weight bc i hate feeling bloated!!! I dont understand why bc makes that big of diff???

It is understandable, Birgie. A lot of us think hormones have a lot to do with IC. That is why so many of us flare when we are PMSing. For some of us, (like me) birth contro throws our hormones all out of kilter. For other (like you) it tends to balance you out. Why do you want to go off of them, are you trying to concieve?

If you want to try something other than birth control, you may want to try a progesterone cream, such as wild yam cream. Theoretically it won't make you gain weight like oral progeterone because it goes directly in to your skin. I have used this as a treatment for PMS and it seems to work. You may not want to use it if you are trying to concieve though. I know people who use it as birth control. If you have any questions, let me know!

I am on Desogen BC pill. I take it continually and have not gained weight from it. I have tried other bc pills for my IC, and they didn't seem to help my symptoms. But, this is the first pill I have actually taken continually. I do not have periods. I think that is the key for me.
