I can't seem to find asparagus listed on any IC diet list, as either good or bad. I love asparagus, and would like to try it. Does anyone know if this is considered a safe vegetable for ICers? :)

Looove asparagus, I have no probs w/it but I do remember a post from someone and they did have probls w/it, just depends on your body, maybe just try a bit at a time?

It's okay for me. Everyone is different. Sadly, the only way you will know if something bothers you is to try it. Start out with just a spear or two. Then, for a couple of days, do not add anything new to your diet. I hope you are able to tolerate it. Asparagus happens to be one of my favorite vegetables. :)

Asparagus doesn't go over well with my bladder. I love it so much....and miss it!

Thanks. I'll just have to give it a go I suppose and see what happens. I'm so afraid to try new things.

Yep, I know, trying "new" items can be scary, lol. Who knew one could be afraid of food??!! ;)

I too can do asparagus with no troubles, my favorite way is to roast it in the oven. I throw it on a cookie sheet with olive oil and kosher salt and roast it till it's tender, yum. I have everyone in the house hooked on it that way! Hope asparagus likes you!! :)

Hugs,
Tracey :)

i can do asparagus, love it so very glad on the "OK" list.

Hum, think I will have some tonight and yes Tracey, roasted, sooooooooo yummy. I make my own flavoured olive oils that I can tolerate and drizzle with them.

Oh man, now I'm craving it. Just how many people crave asparagus. Soon the fresh stuff will be on.

Hmmmm That reciepe sounds good. I may have to give it a try, as the fresh asparagus is in the markets pretty much year round here in So. cal. Funny, to think of asparagus as a "new" food, when I've pretty much eaten it my whole life.

Lucky you! I love asparagus, but it sent me into such a horrible flare two years ago that I refuse to ever eat it again. :(

I never even thought that asparagus would be OK...I have avoided it like the plague (aka: chocolate) maybe I will give it a try...
