QUESTION?

hi This may not be the place I need to post this..but.. I do have a question and I wanted to see if any-one had ever expercienced this pain ?
Lately (about 2 months) I have been having pain in my right hand around my thumb and at wrist area.I went to my primary care Dr. and she sent me to a bone specialist.. which he did a x-ray... and said he could not find anything in the wrist /hand but from the way I was explaing to him how my pain was and also it shoots sharp pain up my arm too. He said it could be in my shoulders: which I told him my shoulders are always in burning pain. He got x ray of my shoulder-- which showed very bad arthrittis(mispelled) and something else ! he wants to believe it is a
"SPUR" .... HE IS SENDING ME TO THE hospital to get a MRI done on shoulder tomorrow. MY QUESTION IS ... WHAT IS A ''SPUR''... and if IT IS a SPUR -WHAT CAN BE DONE WITH IT.? My hand hurts so bad
and I can't bearly use it . It is very weak and
I drop everything!!!! Any info. would really help me out on understanding a "Spur". I go back to this dr. next week to go over the results so maybe I will know something more on a SPUR before I go back to him.

A spur is a calcium growth that can form in a joint --- on the X-ray mine looked like half of a feather and was rubbing on a muscle, causing my pain. I had mine surgically removed. The orthopedist scraped the growth away. It worked, by the way. The only memory I have of the pain is a scar on my shoulder.

when i am driving mostly, caring dishes, a cup, blowdryer, anything along that line I get horrible shooting pains in my thumbs and up my arms, I too would contiue with the testing I have fibro and myofascial pain syndrom

Thanks to all of you who responded to my question. Thanks also for the HUGS...(I needed them!) :) I will post back and let you all know if it is a spur or not.. hand/wrist still hurts!!!
I go Tuesday to the Bone Specialist.
Brat: I hope you get eased with your pain /and I know what you mean about dropping things..!!!!!!

I have worn out like 2 pair of those wrist /hand braces... Yes they do help.. but not much with this pain... I also told the Dr. I was wearing the braces and he said it would not do any good for this pain.. Oh well! banghead
We will see what these tests I have.. ..have to show when I take them in Tuesday. I will post back and tell the results!Till then I will deal with the pain as best as I can scream .
