I just bought a combo quercitin/bromelain/Vit C (non-acidic) vitamin called ADVANCED QUERCETIN from Source Naturals. Has anyone taken this before? I was unsure which one (Cystoprotek, Algonot, Bladder-Q, CystaQ) of those blended formulas to take so I just bought this one. Now I wonder if I did the right thing?
Which of the blended formulas do people take? There are so many!!!

I take Cystoprotek (also take elmiron, ditropan XL, estrace vag creme, urised), it seems to be helping. Although I am in a flare right now.

It is confusing, but the more I read, the better I understand. CystaQ has the anti-inflammatory agents and also some calming agents (valarian). CystoProtek has the quercitin, and also chondroiton and glucosamine put in an olive kernel oil base that helps the chondroiton absorb better. This seems to act on the mast cells, reducing their effects on the bladder.
There is a lot of good information on their websites. You can even download some of the research articles. Don't be afraid to call the companies also! I think you can learn alot about how they answer the questions you ask. :)

hey massagedoula :) hehe
i've tried Bladder Q, it is really confusing as to know which one to try...i guess you just have to try one, and see how it goes :)...i took it for 3 months and in that time i noticed a change in my pelvic symptoms, i think this may have been to do with the Quercetin and L- Arguinine( i have VV & bladder inflammation), i'm not taking it atm as im on a vitamin free diet for anxiety..but it does make me wonder whether i should try the one you have mentioned, as i'm not sure how valerian reacts in my body..so thanks for that im going to do a bit of research on it :)
good luck

I had to stop taking Detrol LA, it made me terribly nauseated at weird times. And it felt like I was going to have explosive diarrhea although it never happened. Just had the gas pains. I ordered cystaQ today and hope it helps. I am getting ready to go to an acupuncture appt, I missed Monday because I found out my mom had lung cancer and didn't feel like laying on my stomach with needles in my back seeking comfort when all I wanted to do is bawl.

I am trying algonot because that is the one my uro recommended. Just started it up about a month ago. I think it takes a good 3 mths to see any improvements.

I started cystroprotect about a week ago and within a few days started feeling better!
so, between diet, pain meds and cystroprotect I haven't woke up in major pain in 4 days and no major pain throughout the day too! When just diet and pain meds...still hurting...now pain like 0-2 throughout after just a few days on the cystroprotect!Hope this lasts! :)

Katya,
I am only just now reading you rmessage so I don't know if you will see this since your message is dated back in May.
I am so sorry about your Mother. I lost my Mother to Leukemia just a few years ago and it was awful. A nightmare to go through. You must be devastated with having to go through IC and then learn that news. Just wanted to extend my sorrow upon hearing about your Mom :(

i got my cystaprotek samples and i can see that if I freeze one and try to swallow it, i will choke on it - because i know from expeience that i have a very narrow esopagus.
Has anyone opened the caps, transfered 1/2 of the ingredience into an empty gel cap and swallowed?
thanks
