I need to have a laparoscopy to evaluate an ovarian cyst. I would also like to have my uro there to do a hydro-distension with biopsies to make a clearer diagnosis and rule out bladder cancer at the same time.

I've heard horror stories about people with IC in remission, or that is mild, and after abdominal surgery, their entire symptoms change and they start having pain, etc.

I currently have only pressure and frequency, and don't want to stir up a hornet's nest by having a laparoscopy if I don't need it. What are your experiences with this? Anyone have anything encouraging to say?

I know many patients have had their IC 'rear its ugly head' when they've had a certain surgery. But everyone is different. The only surgery I've had after my IC diagnosis was an emergency c-section and four months later, my gallbladder removed. My IC symptoms never got worse after those.
I hope you have success with your surgery and feel much better soon. :)

Thank you. It turns out I have 2 ovarian cysts that need to be removed and I will be having surgery soon. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
