The past two weeks, I been so tired all the time. I haven't been emotional. I don't know what could be wrong with me? I even been going to bed early, like at 9 and waking up about 7 and go about what I have to do for the day. I can't think like I always did before. I really don't think i'm burned out, since I haven't been doing really anything. I try to drink cokes, they don't make my flare, but I can have like three of them and it doesn't help me. I want to take a nap all the time. I been trying to stay awake during the days, hoping the feeling will go away, but it seems to be making it worse, what should I do? ONe of my friends is having the same problem and went to the dr...but really didn't know what do it.....I dont' have time for something to be wrong. i'm so sad

Lately I've been expierencing the exact same thing. My doctor at first thought it was bloodsugar but now he has no clue what's causing it. It makes me feel like I'm completely in another world, or like I'll pass out from any exercise. Does it do the same for you?

Girls, you might want to have your Thyroid checked. I felt that way for a few months starting Jan. 04. I also experienced extremely dry skin (heels of feet) weight gain and hair loss. I suspected low thyroid bc my sister has it too. It was so bad I could hardly get out of my chair etc.....went to my Primary and had my blood checked and sure enough it was low thyroid. (score was 7.12) I have since been on Synthroid. Also, it mimics depression in some.
Have you had a recent change in medication? That could also be why you are more tired. Hope you feel better soon.

Also --- if you're in pain, that can be extremely tiring. And even if you don't think cokes bother you, I suggest you go a few weeks without so you will be certain.

I agree, have your tyroid checked. Mine is underactive and I've had it for years. That been said, I'm still tired all the time....lol. Just a combination of getting up all through the night and some nasty side effects from too many medications.
Tyroid check is a start. Also, it's spring, anything in the air that may cause it. I know I have a hard time in the spring and fall. Not sure what it is but causes some nasty headaches which make me tired.

You may want to have a cbc (complete blood count) done. Anemia can cause severe fatigue.

Weight gain is not the only symptom. I wouldn't not get it checked bc of no weight gain. The fact that your mom has had thyroid problems in the past is a very good reason to get it checked. Thyroid problems do run in families.....also, with Hyper -Thy. you can actually lose weight. Let us know how it turns out.

I would agree that a good blood work up to check all the obvious things is good for some possible fluctuations....all of the above are possible contenders.
As Donna mentions, just dealing with pain etc, may be a big factor.
Also, sometimes people get too much sleep, AS IF!!!! ;) You may want to go to be an hour later or two if you can. Sometimes a 20 minute catnap in the afternoon is refreshing and just what we need to get back on course....the more you sleep, the more your body requires it...so I wouldn't suggest long naps during the day, it might screw up your night sleep...but maybe a schedule to balance it will help.
The blood work seems the best real tet here first. Good luck!

Kiyoka, you have said recently they think you may have endo....well when my endometriosis began I started sleeping 17 hours a day every day....and was sooooo tired when wake. It was crazzy....not till I got on Lupron did that change. It could be from the pain...it could be many things.....but it also could be hormones. I hope you feel better soon!! :grouphug:

Can I ask what your level was with your Thyroid? Sometimes you are borderline and would mean that you would be helped with treatment.....
Here is some info. that I found on the range:
Normal TSH levels for Adults: 0.4–4.5 mIU/L
The normal ranges for the results of this test may vary from laboratory to laboratory.
What Affects the Test
Factors that can interfere with your test and the accuracy of the results include:
Medications, such as corticosteroids, levodopa, aspirin, heparin, dopamine, lithium (such as Carbolith, Duralith, Lithane), methimazole (Tapazole), and propylthiouracil.
Recent X-rays with iodine dye or tests using radioactive materials.
Severe stress or long-term (chronic) illness.
The first trimester of pregnancy.
You may want to find out what your TSH result was bc you may be borderline.....
If this aching and tiredness/fatigue continue you may want to get checked for Fibro. or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I think you have to have the symptoms for 3-6 months for a diagnosis?

Thanks Katrina, I will keep all that in mind. Tomorrow i have an appointment to see my primary care doctor. I been on the patch for almost a week now, I been having hormones problems for a while...I guess that dr's didn't think it was the most important thing to work on. But the good thing today I don't hurt as much. yesterday I wanted to cry.

I have the same thing happen with me, I get my thyroid checked and it's completely normal. I have in the past on ultrasounds showing that my thyroid is a little inflammed (had that checked due to a thyroid nodule) but the tests always come back negative. Plus only thyroid nodules run in my family but otherwise nothing other then that.
Kiyoka hope you find out what's causing your tiredness soon. Hopefully we both will :)

Hard to say what could be causing your fatigue. In the spring, when the pollen counts are high, I tend to feel more fatigued than usual (although I have no other hay fever symptoms.) Chronic pain and inflammatory diseases in general will drain you of energy. And even low-level depression will do that too. Not getting enough water will also make you feel fatigued. Those Cokes may be dehydrating you because of the caffeine. And caffeine is only a temporary fix -- the rebound effect once it wears off can be even worse. As the others suggested, it's always a good idea to get some bloodwork done. I had mild anemia a few years ago as a result of running, and it definitely had an impact on my energy level.
I go through periods where I'm really fatigued for what seems like no apparent reason -- just have to try to ride it out as best as I can. Hope you feel better soon.
