HI Everbody

I disappeared to sulk for awhile (I think I needed to grieve and be angry finally) . The change in name indicates a change inthought process. Yes...I still hurt like hell, I'm medicated with morphine but have decided to stop grieving what was and move on. I don't know if I've ever actually told my story in whole. I had surgery in April 2002 to remove an ovary (my one remaining from a prior hysterectomy) . A month after the surgery, I had a horrible pain in my abdomin that they were sure was either a nasty bladder infection (I've always been prone to them) or a post op infection. But tests showed nothin! So started the Hell of what was a really fun summer with tests, docs, people telling me I was fine, others saying I was very sick. In Sept. I finally had the distention and biopsy which showed Mast cells and some bleeding in my bladder from those little thingys. (like my medical terminology?) The urologist who handled that turned me over at that point to a female urologist who I ADORE (She spent 1/2 hour on the phone with me discussing meds last week at 11:00 pm). So we've been playing the fiddle game. (with meds) I've seen a pain doc who disagrees with treatment plans of uro who disagrees with treatment plans of pysch who disagrees with treatment plan of GP. (At least they all agree on the morphine)

Am now doing distance learning to become a teacher of the vision impaired. I'm already certified to be a special ed. teacher/with Masters so it only takes a little more to add to that. The good news is it's all scholarship based. I can do it over the internet from the school I got my teaching degree from (until student teaching) and the woman who runs the program (outreach) where I want to teach wants to hire me, like now, even with my probs. She's willing to hire me with flexible hours. (I can't legally work in this job until I get the training) I'm very excited about that. She said even 15-20 hours/week . If I'm doing SO
METHING I'll be happy and stop skulking...and keep the pysch off my back!!!

So, I'm off to learn Braille this spring between trips to the toidy lmao So, I just hope not too much driving..which I may find car pooling and by the time I actually work there will be enough improvement I can get off some of the sedating stuff.

Thanks for listening....I know it was long...its been long for my family too. My husband is ready to pull his hair out, and my daughters want their "old mommy" back! (I over heard that, that's what finally got my butt moving.)

Welcome back. It does sound like you have developed some real coping skills. I think it's so important to have a doctor you like and who tries to help in any way she can.

Sending healing thoughts,
Donna
