How do I ask the DOC

After reading all the posts I feel like I really may have IC. I have been working with a urologist for about 6 months for my frequent urination (which I have had since I was 16!). The urologist has never mentioned IC. What is the best way to ask to be tested. (as it is a big test) I dont want to wait anymore!

Maybe just telling him that you've been doing a lot of reading & research on the subject & IC has come up & wonder if he might test you for it. Kathi

I would explain your concerns tell them your symptoms and you would like to sind out if its possibly IC or not ?
You can print some information from the website and bring it with it may help.

Sometimes it is good to bring it up in a way that it can be their idea. Like, "I was doing some reading and I came across something called IC. What can you tell me about that and do you think I could have it? What would rule it out or in?"
