When is the best time to take meds

I am having a bit of trouble deciding when is the best itme to take my meds. Can someone here give me a daily look at how and when they take their stuff. I just was given Detrol la, and I am taking .25 xanax at night to sleep, and I have a perscription for lexapro. Need to get started on this stuff and am feeling fearful. I have vagifem to replace the estrace which kicked up pain in the vulva area. I am frustrated and fear I need someone to just work as a teammate and tell me the exact times to take this stuff. Chidlish I know. But I am having anxiety over taking these new meds. Any takers out there....:) :grouphug:

I think it would be a good idea to talk with your doctor and pharmacist --- sometimes more than one medication is okay at the same time; sometimes it's best to separate them so you take then at different times.

I bet if you took your meds in to a nice pharmacist (not during a rush) they would probably help you iron it out. It is really confusing in the beginning when we have these handfuls of meds to take in a day.

I take 1 Elmiron and one Vistaril in the am and then in the pm I take 2 Elmiron, 1 Detrol LA, 1 Vistaril, 1 Elavil and 1 Lexapro. And I'll add that a weekly pillbox has been a must have for me. :)

I am just frustrated. Mr. Dr. went back and forth with me as to when, he was trying to find the timing that led to heanding off the worst of my daily spasms. I was getting then at night. Now I am getting them around mid afternoon. And not as severe. But that's a great idea, and I am going to go there this afternoon. You said you are on the lexapro. has it caused any problems? And Donna I noted you had vulva issues, the oxalate is what got my attention. Is there enough in the lexapro to even matter? Thanks ladies...

I take Flexeril in PM and as needed during day for spasms. (PFD&Fibro.) I take Synthroid in afternoon. (Hypo) I take Hydroxyzine in PM, (& Flexeril) I take prescription Pyridium as needed and in PM (for urgency/freq./pain) I take Oxycontin as scheduled. Now, Oxycodone for break-thru.

Good idea on taking it to Pharmacy to get their opinion.

Lexapro GREATLY helped my anxiety and depression with only some minor weight gain as a side effect.

The bonus was it seemed to be the final key in my IC symptoms. I had felt really good, but still had a little burning feeling in the perineal/urethra area. It took that away after a couple of weeks and I hadn't been expecting that at all. :)

I am to start with half of a 10 then move to 10 in seven days and then 10 and 1/2 for the next steps. Your story sounds encouraging, if I can get some weigh gain, and anxiety release...that's going to be a blessing. I did go buy some ice cream.

I also have flexeril, and should use that when the pain flares, haven't done that. It's stupid for me to have these meds if I am not using them. :headbang:

See how the meds make you feel....some people get up on lexipro so maybe it may be better take in the am, but see....same with the detrol la.

I am on 10mg, Connie. My doc had said sometimes people with anxiety have had to go up to 20mg, but with the weight gain I have had (7 pounds) I didn't want to tip the scales anymore. ;)
