I am so mad. I'm usually fine with chocolate as long as I don't overdo it. Well, it was someone's birthday in my office and we had cake. Of course, it was a German chocolate cake. So I had a piece. (I guess it was kind of a big piece). Anyway, a couple of hours later, it hit me--a huge flare, not to mention my stomach isn't doing too great either. I guess I have no one to blame but myself.
Does anyone have any strategies that may relieve my flare--at least alittle? The weekend is here and I really don't want to be dealing with this the whole weekend. Any suggestions would be great!

Baking soda and water.
I have never tried it, but just read that it will help settle down a flare.
Good luck! I'm sorry that you are in pain.
Also, drink lots of water to flush your bladder out.

And yes, drinking a bit of baking soda and water should help, or peppermint tea.

Yep, I choke down a big glass of water with a tsp baking soda in it when I am looking for some relief, lol. That and I drink lots and lots of water! I would say it helps me most times, if I am being too lazy - I will munch up a couple tums! And peppermint tea really calms my stomach down when it's deciding to get into the act as well!!
Feel better soon! Mmmmmm, cake sounds yummy though!!! Too bad it had to hurt you!
Hugs,
Tracey :)

Prelief - 2 or 3 tablets and cornsilk capsules. If it makes you feel any better, I also trangressed last night and ate a piece of the most heavenly chocolate mouse cake I have ever had. Sorry folks, but it was worth it. Sure enough though, I was burning this morning. I took the prelief and cornsilk and I am fine now.

Thank you guys so much for your help. I will try anything. I feel alittle better now but I had horrible bladder pain and frequency/urgency last night and then this morning from this cake. Its almost as if I had the "runs" but in the reverse way (sorry if that is tmi). =).
TUMS can help sometimes. The baking soda trick also has bailed me out of a flare too.
(My coworkers had a chocolate cake & sparkling cider at lunch yesterday to toast my coworker's marriage. I didn't have any, but came home really grumpy about it & overate all my safe foods to compensate. This diet really stinks sometimes.)
Hope you feel better soon!
