I was diagnosed last November but have had the syptoms for lots of years.
My Doctor tried medications 3 different kinds but no improvement. Saw him Friday and he recomended the cysto/hydrodistention. So I am set up May 13 for it. I see by the posts here that there seems to be a lot of success with it. I am sure ready to try it! I was on a bus 3 weeks ago without a bathroom and had a real flare up. I was lucky it stopped for one pickup at a hotel so I was able to go there but still was miserable. It was what made up my mind to try the hydrodistention. This board is really helpful! Thanks to all.

:welcome: Brian! Which meds did you try?? Were you diagnosed by symptoms in November or did you have the potasium test?

I hope the hydro goes well for you. I would apsalutely hate being on a bus during a flare like that. Car rides...or bus rides...often make me way worse. During flares that is one of the worse things for me to do. :grouphug:

I also hope the distention works for you --- it definitely does for me.

Are you following an IC diet? That can also help a lot.

Sending healing thoughts,
Donna

Another :welcome: Brain,
I too hope the cysto w/hydro works for you. Having the diagnosis is more than half the battle for many. I hope that you find the treatment plan that works for you SOON.
I also find it really hard to go to places that have parking lots bigger than two football fields and that are BLOCKS away from the event, meaning you are a long ways away from the nearest restroom. Places like Fairs, NASCAR races and such. I think I may ask my doctor about getting a handicap parking permit for such large events.
Wish you the best with your Cysto w/hydrodistention.

The one thing I sure notice is everything I do is based on where the nearest bathrooms are!
