Hello IC friends, I don't know where I should have put this  So I just decided this was a good place. It is none of my business but I'am just wondering how many us are on this board for hours and hours. My boyfriend complains that this is all I do and he gets mad because I don't get anything else done around the house :biglaugh: . I always rush around an hour before he gets home to get stuff done. I do, do stuff of coarse like get up and go to the bathroom :toilet: and I do other stuff for awhile and then come back on. He just get's mad because he works alot and all I do is sit on my butt. Thanks to him I'm able to do that  . Just a Question?
Thanks for reading :) .

I try not to let IC comsume (sp) my life. As some days are harder then others I know I can always find a positive to go with my negative. I think if I feel negative then that reflects others around me and thinking negative makes me more depressed.
I am lucky for now also that I can stay at home but I will get on the computer once a day if that to check email.

I love the computer for various things. I belong to several support health boards and enjoy giving or when needed getting support. I am a huge Nascar fan so computer is great for updates and chats.. go Dale Jr.... I love to shop love internet for cetain goodies and also I use it a great deal to help reference medical conditons and medicines.. helps me be able to participate in my medical care. I also work 22 hours a week. Have hubby and 2 boys I get on when I can or need to I say much more in winter cause summer time were busybee's.... Oh Yah I also book our vacations on line every year for last 7 years its wonderful.I think were going to lake george this year were tossing ideas around.Last summer was the first year we could not go anywhere due to my medical issues so this year is a must.
If I had to guess I would say 30 minutes a day and a couple days a week 1-2 hours..

I am online probably a half an hour a day. I check the message boards here at ic-network.com, and I also check the message boards at horsecity.com. I am a huge horse lover and own my own horse, so I have a lot of questions to ask over there too!
I am a teacher, so I am not home from 7:30-4:30 every day.
I work at Baybee's stable bringing horses in on Tuesday and Fridays, which usually takes from 5:30-6:30
I am getting my master's, so I work on my paper every Wednesday night at college from 6-10.
My husband's softball team will start soon and so I will be out there every Tues after I get done bringing horses in!
IC hasn't slowed me down, but my IC is in the 'mild' category according to my uro.
I had hydro/cysto done on Thursday, so I took Friday off and plan on laying low this weekend. Stopped out at the stable last night, my brother was riding Baybee and I just had to go for a quick ride. I tried to sit on my butt-cheeks instead of in my crotch area, I still paid the price. I had to use an ice pack when I got home. What can I say; I love horses and it is hard to stay away!

I don't think it's a good idea to spend hours and hours on the computer. It's best to limit time reading about health issues. It can get pretty overwhelming.

I agree with Donna. I check the boards a few times a day because I'm a moderator, but I try to limit my computer time. It's not good to be all-consumed by the boards, or anything on the computer for that matter. It might be fun just to read a book instead, or just take some time and spend it talking and cuddling with your boyfriend! :D

I have to agree with Jen and Donna--although I am not a moderator, I check a few times a day but otherwise I am doing fun stuff with my 4 year old. Besides, my behind has already spread since the IC arrived, it doesn't need to spread by me sitting on it for hours at the computer.
Hugs,
Barb :)

When I found the boards, I was on for hours mostly on Thurs nite, but would pop on an hour here n there during the week, mainly to read everything I never read before, now that I've been here a little while, I am on maybe an hour to two three days a week, not just here tho, I may be messaging someone or have the boards up and doing something else, guess I multitask! :)

I also check the boards a few times a day when i'm up to it but learned a long time ago staying on the computer to much can do more harm then good.
Yes the internet is a good place for support when your unable to get out but don't let it take over your life.
Sending you hugs and prayers

Like Rhonda said I found that the computer can do more harm than good - but for me this is literal because one of my main symptoms is increased pain from sitting too much. I had a small business doing graphic arts and am no longer able to do this any more because I can't sit long enough. I do have a lap top set up on my kitchen counter and it is hooked up to my home network so I can access the internet. I'll stop and glance at the messages on the board during the day as I walk by doing housework and laundry so I'm not on the message boards as much as it looks like I am. I certainly have gained a lot of knowlege from visiting this site though and am sure glad this resource is out there for us!
