http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/fit.gif I am beginning to get irritated with the doctors. I went to my family doc two days ago for my restless legs and he said we have exhausted all he could do for me because we have tried the best meds for it and they are not working. So now I have to go see a neurologist to have a emg done. They had me on mirapex .25mg, it worked for a week and a half then my legs began to hurt in the night and I started tossing and turning and wasnt getting any sleep. So I called and they switched me over to klonopin (which is not good to give a rls'er if they already are suffering from sleepiness but they did anyway) and that did nothing but make me so tired during the day that i was about falling asleep at my desk by 10:00am. and my legs still hurt during the day. I took it for a month and had to go back to see my doc and he then gave me a pill to keep me awake during the day http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/******.gif. So I called my family doc back and he took me off both of those and put me back on the mirapex but up'ed the does to .5mg well I took that for a week and I did nothing but suffer restlessness at night no sleep at all and pain both day and night. So I called him again and he wanted me to see him I tell him whats going on and thats when he told me time for the neuro. and he up'ed the dose a thrid time to 1mg. Still same reaction. Well last night I decided not to take the darn thing as I am so tired of the pain and being tired. And I can't get in till may to see the neuro which I am not going to go a month with no sleep I can't do it anymore http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/sleep9.gif.

I just wish they could find what is causing all this pain and numbness as it is 100 times worse than the bladder will ever be. It's really bad when it hurts to walk, sit, lay and stand with constant pain and numbness running up and down your leg and you take everything you can to make it stop and it won't.
I just want to http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/cry4.gif

Well a Neurologist is probably a good idea. They RLS and they know those meds better. Hopefully the Neuro will help you a lot. If not I know there are natural treatments out there? Have you tried any of them?
I hope you feel better soon!!!!!!!!

No haven't tried any they consider me to be very severe as I am jerking at night every 6mins and during the day I have contant pain and numbness. So yeah your right hopefully the neuro will help a lot. It's just irritating that we have to go through so much just to feel better.

I'm so sorry you are hurting but I hope so much that the neurologist will be able to give you relief.

They are doing so much new research and work with neuro-related things, and neurostimulation, surely there must be reason to hope! :)

Blessings, Lori

best of luck with the neuro... i don't know much about that condition, but it sounds like it's the right path... i will pray that the neuro has a cancellation before the month! *grins*

sending many good thoughts your way for as much relief as possible until then!
