Are IC symptoms a lot like a UTI?

Are IC symptoms much like symptoms of an UTI? HOpe everyone is doing well.

Everyone iis different...but yes, there are a lot of similarities...sometimes peoples symtoms are different at different times. I have frequency and urgency and for the first time pain....sometimes when I eat icky things I get burning now...so it has changed. Have you been diagnosed yet?

yes it can feel like it.. Many do have different symtpoms and it can sometimes be hard to tell the difference between IC and uti.. if I cant tell I will call the doctor and get a culture to be sure.
Some symtpoms can be burning,bladder spasms, frequency and urgency,pain.

Many times it's UTI symptoms in the absence of infection that motivates doctors to do IC testing. Sometimes I can't tell the difference between a UTI and an IC flare.

No I have not been diagnosed yet. I am going Friday for laparascopic surgery. I am SO NERVOUS.. Then if they can't find anything that is causing pain or the frequent urination..I am going to a different urologist. I am depressed!

After having IC for awhile (years) you are able to tell the difference between an infection and a bad flair. It takes awhile though.
