Hi all ! I am 28 and haven't been diagnosed with IC...I have pelvic pain around my ovaries and frequent urination. I am having a lap done April 8th to check for endo or adhesions. (I had adhesions 5 yrs ago wrapped around my intestines).. I was just wondering what your symptoms are? Where is your pain located? I am so scared that I have IC..my sis had endo and it pressed on her bladder...I am so frustrated.. Thanks.

Hang in there Dee and let them see on the endro. I have a friend that had a hysto done due to problems with her ovaries turns out that she had a tummor that was connected to her bladder also. However, the symptoms of IC vary from case to case and even in the same individual. People may experience mild discomfort, pressure, tenderness, or intense pain in the bladder and surrounding pelvic area. Symptoms may include an urgent need to urinate (urgency), frequent need to urinate (frequency), or a combination of these symptoms. Pain may change in intensity as the bladder fills with urine or as it empties. Women's symptoms often get worse during menstruation

Thank you. I had a pelvic ultrasound done they didn't find anything with that. I wonder if my gyno could do that cysto test while I am under anesthesia for the lap? Have you had that test done? Does your bladder hurt afterward? Thanks

Yeah i had it done but they did it seperate as they stretched my bladder too while they did it. I wasn't in any discomfort from the way the go into the bladder but i was having a couple of days of real bad spasms from the bladder being stretched. You could talk to your gyno about it but unless he does bladder stuff he will probably send you to a uro for the IC

No she doesn't have IC just had a horrible time with her cycles and they tried everything then finally did the hystoretemy. She feels a 100% better now.
I have a friend who had symptoms very similar to IC, but hers were caused by endo on her bladder. Once the endo was removed she was fine. :)

Dee-
I had a similiar experience in that I had a lot of pelvic pain and had a exp lap and had asked them to talk to my uro, which they never did...so Make sure your talk with your MD's and see who you should be seeing...(after your procedure)- I think my pelvic pain was different then my IC, but I would have liked to have had the IC diagnosis back then, it just took 10years.
Good luck...everyone's symptoms are different...
