:help: I'm really scared. Over the weekend my navel incision from my laprascopic surgery I noticed my navel incision began swelling and swelling and swelling. In addition to that is a large amount of puss drainage and bleeding. When the stitch is pulled off to the side you can see inside into the abdominal cavity. A few weeks ago I underwent severe rectocele repair in addition to the laprascopic surgery. I've been told by many that if this infection gets into my blood stream that I could end up with a serious staph infection and be hospitalized.

I have 2 absesses around the navel that continue to become larger by the hour. At first the drs office wasn't going to squeeze me in today and I finally told them that I talked to the on-call physician that it needed to be looked at TODAY! I'm scared, don't feel well, very fatigued, nauseated and my belly button is hot, swollen as well as my entire belly. It's hard and keeps hardening, the pain is off the charts as well.

When I wash the area with peroxide it foams up like cotton candy, it's absolutely disgusting and did I mention that it hurts like hel*!!!!! They refuse to give me any more post op pain medication and I'm still having alot of vaginal pain from the rectocele repair surgery and have to sit on one cheek, can't sit flat and it hurts bad to drive anywhere.

Pray that this infection isn't too serious. The on-call doc said they would teach me to drain the absesses and learn to pack the area, which without learning or seeing makes me very sick to my stomach. I'll admit I'm a big huge chicken and wish I could just get this over with, NOW!

Pray for me....

Cripes, your luck is about as good as mine, with the never ending draining breast wound. Hang in there, and if you need to pack it call me...I need to feel like a nurse again.

Are you on antibiotics? Hopefully, the drainage will stop soon so you can have a chance to recover.

Hang in there!

Warm hugs,
Donna

Hi all. My lower abdomen is getting larger and larger. I seriously look like I'm about 6 months pregnant today. They put me on antibiotics but I don't see where it's helping. I have several absesses right around my navel, some very large and still have this pus crap coming out vaginally. I even had someone ask if I was at the office for pregnancy, if that tells you how large my belly is. It hurts to ride in a car, lay down, sit up and I can't bend down at all. It just sucks guys. I'm on day 2 of antibiotics, 4x a day @ 500mg so I pray that this will kick it. I'm so afraid it's more internal that external and the doctors at my gyno's office didn't even take a sample and test the fluid I have draining out of my navel, not a very good doc I thought.

If it's still this way tomorrow I'M GOING BACK AND DEMAND SOME FURTHER TESTING... I guess when things get tough I'm gonna have to get a little ugly. The weekend doc told me they'd do totally different things than the doc I saw, she walked in and said without examining me, WOW, you've got quite an infection brewing there...that's IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :headbang: :cussing:

Anyone have any suggestions, my gyno is out all this week (of course) Grrrr!
